Monumental and impressive, this is a treasure for any top-level collector! We love the simplistic stamp work to the lustrous background which reminds us of early Navajo textiles. Whirling logs are stamped at all four corners, with one in the center which has been covered up by this applied, figural, sterling silver Indian head. Domed coins for feet, twisted applied wires and detail stamps of both Thunderbird and Arrows. This piece is pre-1940's, possibly 1930's, and speaks to both the Fred Harvey era and the tourist moment of the day.
